I study ceramics at the ‘Burg Giebichenstein’ in Halle. Ever since my apprenticeship with Birke Kästner, where I first came in contact with woodfired ceramics, I have been interested in woodfiring and kiln building.

I studied from 1999 to 2006 at the Burg Giebichenstein in Halle and for four years I have, together with two colleagues, a small workshop in Halle.  My main focus is currently in porcelain, but if there is the possibility I would be very happy with the trips into the wood fire world  Organisation of the kiln building competition

I am 21 years old and have been studying ceramics at the castle Giebichenstein since October which explains my interest in ceramics (I also have a close connection to wood firing). I have been introduced to this technique at the ceramic workshop of the Omse e.V. in Dresden. I have always been fascinated by the wood firing process and would like to learn as much as possible about it. I have the possibility to fire with wood at the castle as well. Building my own kiln might be a possibility in the distant future!

I am a certified correspondent in English and French and I live in beautiful Leipzig. Apart from big foreign words I also love to juggle objects. Together with friends I am organising a convention for movement art and juggling in Leipzig. So why am I here? Even an unconnected  ceramics fan can somehow find his way to Bröllin...
